1986 Catalina Capri 25′ (Trailer – Port Sanilac) $7500

Serious inquiries only please. I am moving soon, can’t take the boat and need to sell it ASAP. Willing to negotiate on the price.

Catalinas are very popular boats. The Capri 25 even has a dedicated website: http://www.catalina-capri-25s.org/

Size: 25′ LOA
Beam: 9′
Draft: 4’6″
Fixed Keel

This boat is a lot of fun. It’s very fast, very stable and has lot’s of trim options. Starting up front, the boat comes with a jib and a 155 genoa head sail. Both have their own storage bags. The boat also has a forestay sail bag. The main has two reef points and is bolt roped in to the mast and boom. All the sails are Dacron and in very good condition (never left exposed – always covered). The boom has an outhaul and a boom vang. There is also a backstay adjuster for fine tuning the main. The boat doesn’t have a built in head but I will include a small port-o-potty that mounts up in the cabin bow. The boat also comes with a manual start 2 cycle, 6 HP Yamaha outboard that is in great shape and has been stored inside in the winter months (currently in my basement). I added a shore power outlet, AC/DC breaker and wiring, new cabin fans and LED lights last year. I also just replaced the sole plate with marine teak and holly plywood. The materials for these project alone cost nearly $2,000. The boat comes with a few deployable dock bumpers, plenty of lines, anchors, life jackets, etc. It is truly ready to sail and enjoy. Cabin and cockpit cushions are included (all in great shape, stain free, clean, etc).

The boat is currently being stored on it’s trailer (mast on braces completely covered) in a boat yard in Port Sanilac, MI. The trailer is a 2 axle, 3500 lb standard model. It is in great shape with new tires but one of the axles is slightly bent. Should be trivial for a good welding shop to weld a new spindle on the end. Or, a new axle could be purchased for a couple hundred bucks. I haven’t bothered because it’s suitable for hauling the boat a few miles down the road to be launched and back.

Sorry I don’t have any good photos of the boat suitable for selling. I was just up there to check on the boat at the end of November but didn’t plan on selling it then. There are literally hundreds of photos on the website above that would give you a good idea of what you are buying. I would be happy to take a quick trip up with any serious buyers to have a look. This is a super chance to buy a great, fun sailboat for a fantastic price.
